Both Edwin and Helvert really display hustle! I don't think they stopped moving the whole time they were on the clock. Luggers, Makhlouf and Luis were very skilled at delivering the adjustable frame for a high-end Tempurpedic bed. First, they came in and asked to see where the frame was going. Then, they quickly brought it up two flights of stairs. Luis guided Makhlouf with his experience in how to turn the frame vertically, holding onto the sides, so the mechanism would not fold, pulling out the legs, and turning the frame so that it could navigate a small “four corners” turn through with 3 doors. They angled it through the bedroom door, asked where to put it and easily put it in place. They placed the mattress and plugged it in. This took some expertise. I am in immense gratitude for their skill, efficiency, and, above all, courtesy and people skills. - Alex

To take apart a Sleep Number bed, start with what it's made of. It travels in pieces: the foam layers, the air chambers, the pump, the hoses and the base. Before the crew arrives, use the moving guide on Sleep Number's support site to disassemble the Sleep Number mattress and cap the air chambers, then bag the hoses, caps and remote together and label the bag, so everything you need to set the bed back up is in one place.
A Lugg is priced partly on the time the job takes on site, so a bed that's ready to go when the crew arrives keeps that time down.
A base that loses power while it's raised stays raised, and it won't fit through a doorway that way. Lower it all the way first, then unplug it.
The base is the heaviest piece, and it's awkward to carry because the motor sits underneath. Lugg's weight limit is 125 lbs per Lugger, or 250 lbs per item on any vehicle that comes with two Luggers: Pickup, Van, XL, Box or Box+. Anything heavier needs more Luggers on the job, so book a second Lugg for the same time window. A split king is two separate bases, so check the weight of each one rather than the pair.

According to Sleep Number's website, the Sleep Number moving service, Mattress Relocation, is a paid service that moves a bed to another room in the same home and doesn't cover a move to a new home. For a move to a new address, book a Lugg with both addresses, and add the dresser, nightstands and boxes to the same Lugg. One Lugg covers up to 5 stops.
Luggers aren't Sleep Number technicians, so they don't take apart or reconnect the pump, hoses or air chambers. Do that part yourself with Sleep Number's guide, or have Sleep Number do it, and Lugg movers carry the bed in the pieces it's in.

You are responsible for measuring your doorways, hallways, and stairwells to ensure your bed will fit before booking. Your bed cannot be delivered because it doesn't fit, it can be placed in an alternate location at your destination or be returned to the Sleep Number bed store of purchase. If you prefer the item is returned to the store, you will be charged for the initial delivery attempt and for the additional return trip.
