What types of furniture can Lugg move and deliver?

Lugg moves all types of furniture, from couches, sectionals, and recliners to bed frames, dressers, dining tables, and office desks. We also handle bulkier pieces like armoires, credenzas, mattresses, and patio sets. Whether it's a single sofa, a full apartment setup, or multiple items from a store or marketplace purchase, your Luggers secure, pad, and move it safely and efficiently.

Does Lugg provide same-day & next-day chair moves?

Yes, Lugg provides on-demand, same-day, and next-day chair moves. You can book movers and a truck within the hour, or schedule up to 60 days in advance for a time that works best for you.

What supplies and protective equipment will my Luggers bring for my chair move?

Every Lugg chair move includes professional moving equipment, straps, dollies, moving blankets, and stretch wrap to protect your items and your space, plus a basic toolkit for light disassembly or reassembly. Pickup trucks also come equipped with a tarp for weather protection. Your Luggers will wrap fragile or bulky pieces for safe transport, take care to avoid damage to floors, walls, and elevators, and know how to get heavy furniture, appliances, and other large items through tight spaces, stairs, and doorways. This helps ensure a smooth, efficient chair move from start to finish. We do not provide moving boxes or mattress covers. Please have these items ready if needed.

My building is a walk-up with stairs and no elevator, can Lugg still help with my chair move?

Yes, Luggers are experienced with walk-ups and tight spaces. Your Lugg crew will carefully bring your furniture to or from your room of choice, exactly where you want it. **Heavy chair notice:** Please confirm stairs are wide enough to accommodate safe placement, as Luggers can't hoist appliances or use ladders.

What size truck and crew should I book for my chair move?

Pick the truck that fits what you're moving. Almost every option is a two-Lugger booking, so crew size isn't usually the decision — the Lugg Lite is the exception. * Lite: 6 ft+ long × 4.5 ft wide. A single Lugger with a pickup truck, for a stack of boxes or a few lighter pieces. * Pickup: 6 ft+ long × 4.5 ft wide. The same truck as the Lite, with a second Lugger. * Van: 8 ft+ long × 4 ft wide × 4.5 ft tall. Enclosed, so better in bad weather. * XL: 10 ft+ long × 5.5 ft wide × 6.4 ft tall. * Box: 12–16 ft long × 6 ft wide × 7 ft tall. * Box+: 18–24 ft long × 6 ft wide × 7 ft tall. The largest option, built for commercial relocations and anything that needs maximum cargo space. **Tip**: Pickup trucks carry a tarp for light rain, but book an enclosed truck — Van, XL, Box or Box+ — if heavier rain is forecast. When in doubt, size up. Not all box trucks have a lift gate. If your chair move needs one, say so in the '**What are you moving?**' field when booking and Lugg will do its best to accommodate.

Do I need to arrange parking for my chair move?

Yes, you are responsible for securing safe and legal parking for your chair move. If a permit is required at your location, please arrange it in advance. If safe parking isn't available, your Lugg may need to be canceled and your move rescheduled. Please note that wait time is billable.

Can Lugg handle disassembling, assembling, or setting up my chair?

Yes, Lugg movers can handle basic assembly, disassembly and setup, like attaching legs and headboards or putting bed frames back together. On a standard Lugg, it's part of your labor time. On a partner store delivery, add Assembly when you book. If your chair needs special instructions or tools, have them ready for your movers.

Can Lugg pick up my new chair and haul away, recycle, or donate the old one on the same trip?

Yes, Lugg can pick up your new chair and then haul away the old one to a recycling facility or donate it to a local charity, including donation centers like [Goodwill](https://lugg.com/goodwill-donation-pickup) or [Habitat ReStore](https://lugg.com/habitat-for-humanity-donation-pickup). Just add an extra stop when booking your move. If your new chair is coming from a partner store, that extra stop means your Lugg is priced as a standard Lugg, with labor billed by the minute at every stop. **Tip**: Donation and disposal centers vary widely in what they accept, so we recommend calling ahead to confirm they can take your chair, along with their hours and any potential fees.

Will Lugg unbox items from my chair move?

Yes, Lugg movers can unbox items from your chair move. On a standard Lugg, unboxing and basic placement are part of your labor time, billed by the minute. On a partner store delivery, the fixed price covers bringing your items into the room of your choice, and you can add Assembly when you book to have them unboxed and put together. To have packing debris hauled away, add a stop at a local recycling or disposal center. On a partner store delivery, that extra stop makes it a standard Lugg, priced by the minute for labor at every stop.

What if my chair item is oversized?

Please note special handling in your booking. We recommend a 2-Lugger crew and cleared pathways. For delicate items, Luggers use pads and wrap; extra time may be required for safe handling.

How should I prepare for my chair move?

Measure doorways/hallways, clear pathways, and secure pets. If you live in an apartment building or condo, check with your property manager about elevator or dock reservations. Please have your phone on for driver contact and ensure parking is available.

Can Lugg help move items within my home/building or to the curb?

Yes, you can book Movers only with Lugg for jobs that stay at one address, like swapping rooms, moving a piece up or down stairs, or getting something out to the curb. Enter your address, tap **Movers only**, then pick your crew size. There's no truck to book and no mileage fee.

What happens if my chair gets damaged during the move?

We always recommend inspecting your chair upon arrival. In the rare event that damage occurs to your item(s) or your property, our Support Team will promptly review the issue, coordinate any necessary repairs or replacements, and work with you to make things right. To file a damage claim, [get in touch through our contact page](https://lugg.com/contact) or use live chat. We'll guide you through the next steps and may ask you to hold the item while we review and resolve the issue as quickly as possible. For more details, see our Help Center article: [What if my items or location get damaged?](https://lugg.com/help/after/what-if-my-items-or-location-get-damaged)

How much does a Lugg cost?

Lugg prices every booking as a base fare for the vehicle you pick, a per-mile rate for the distance between your stops, and labor billed by the minute with no hourly minimum. You'll see your upfront estimate before you book, including a small variable booking fee, and rates vary by city. The vehicle you pick sets most of the price, so a single piece of furniture in a Lite or Pickup costs much less than a full apartment in a Box. Routes over 30 miles add a long-distance fee, which is already in your estimate, and a Movers only job has no mileage at all.

Chair movers for recliners & big furniture

Huge recliner, reading chair, or oversized accent seat? We'll move it without scuffs, scrapes, or drama. Book a quick trip for a single chair or a whole set and let our movers handle the awkward, heavy stuff.
