The Dwayne and Kevin duo was great. I was holding my breath worried about the move (large and heavy dining table plus steep stairs to my office suite, which is in a really old building and is probably “grandfathered in” instead of meeting current building code requirements- know what I’m sayin’?), but Dwayne and Kevin are pros, and the Facebook marketplace said that they were really careful with loading the dining table and chairs. An office move is usually desks, task chairs, file cabinets, monitors and printers, and a few boxed-up shelves going from one suite to another, on a deadline someone else set. Lugg is an on-demand moving and delivery service that moves office furniture and equipment across up to five addresses on the schedule you pick, same day if you need it.
Most office moving companies quote a day rate or hold you to a two-to-four-hour minimum, which is why a ninety-minute job so often bills like half a day. Lugg charges a base fare plus labor by the minute, so the meter stops when the work does. Enter your addresses and you'll see an upfront estimate before you book.
Lugg moves computers, monitors, printers and the rest of the hardware on the same booking as the furniture, and Lugg movers can take a desk or a conference table apart and put it back together in the new room. Movers carry it up stairs, into elevators and down long hallways. Box whatever you can before the crew arrives, and Luggers blanket-wrap whatever won't fit a box, so the fragile pieces travel protected rather than loose in a truck. Lugg doesn't do the cabling, though, so A/V hookups and network or server setup stay with your IT team.
Lugg's first window starts at 6 AM and the last one runs to 10 PM, weekends included, so the desks move while nobody's trying to work at them and the office opens Monday already in place. A single booking can take up to five addresses too, so the old desks reach a donation center on the same run that brings the new ones in. You can add contacts to the booking as well, so the office manager, whoever is receiving at the new suite and whoever is holding the door at the old one all get ETA updates and can reach the movers directly. Everyone on the booking gets a live tracking link, and it opens on a phone or a desktop, app or no app.
