Plenty of moves are one piece of furniture, not a household. A couch that won't go up the new stairwell, a dresser bought two neighborhoods over, a dining table headed to a friend's place. It usually is. Traditional movers charge a 2-4 hour minimum, so a 20-minute job gets priced like half a day. Lugg bills labor by the minute instead, which is what makes a one-item booking worth it.
Lugg can move furniture up to 250 lbs per item, which covers most sleeper sofas, dressers and upright cabinets. Anything heavier is still movable, because the per-item limit scales with how many Luggers are on the job, so book the extra muscle. Movers carry it up stairs, into elevators and down long hallways. Most pieces get stuck at the turn, the landing at the top of the stairs or the corner from the hallway into the bedroom, rather than at the front door. Those are the measurements worth taking before you book.
Moving furniture between rooms counts too: a mattress and bed frame into the spare bedroom, a dresser up from the basement, patio furniture out of the garage and onto the deck once the weather turns. Set the same address as pickup and drop-off, and the crew does the carrying.
