Round Top isn't one antiques fair but dozens of independently owned venues spread across 11 miles of Texas State Highway 237. The town has about 90 residents, but the fair brings in more than 100,000 visitors and 1,500-plus vendors three times a year. The 2026 fall show runs October 15 through November 1.

On-site shippers handle fragile or out-of-state purchases. You don't need to bring a truck for local finds, either. Lugg is an on-demand moving and delivery service that picks up large antique and vintage finds in Round Top or Warrenton and delivers them to homes in Houston or Austin the same day. That lets you buy the piece you want instead of the one that fits in your car.

How is the Round Top antiques corridor laid out?

The Round Top antiques corridor stretches roughly 11 miles along Highway 237, with Round Top in the middle, Warrenton to the south and Carmine to the north. Knowing where each stretch sits saves backtracking because parking is scattered and the road is one lane in each direction for most of it.

Along Highway 237Where it sitsWhat it's like
CarmineNorth end of the corridorSmaller and quieter, and usually the easiest place to park when the middle is full
Round TopThe centerThe town square and the most walkable stretch. Big Red Barn and Continental Barn sit just outside it
WarrentonAbout 5 miles south of Round TopThe densest concentration of open-field venues, including Bar W Field, the largest outdoor site at the show
Burton and FayettevilleOff the main corridorTheir own smaller shopping areas, worth a detour if you have a spare half day

Warrenton's open-field venues have room for farmhouse tables, architectural salvage and other pieces that would crowd an indoor booth, and that is also where loading can take the most planning. If the fields are your priority, starting there and working north avoids backtracking along Highway 237.

When is the Round Top Antiques Fair?

The 2026 fall show runs October 15 through November 1, but there is no single opening day for every venue. Each one sets its own calendar inside that window, so the dates are really a staggered series of openings across more than two weeks.

A handful of venues, including Bar W Field, open on October 15. Much of the corridor, including Zapp Hall, Excess and The Arbors, opens on October 17; venue closing dates run through November 1. The Original Round Top Antiques Fair, which started it all in 1968 and runs the Big Red Barn and The Continental, is open October 25 to 31, beginning with Designer Day on October 25. Marburger Farm opens later in the run.

The staggered calendar dates back to the first show in 1968. As crowds grew, landowners along Highway 237 opened their own fields and set their own schedules. Today, nearly a hundred venues operate alongside the Original Round Top Antiques Fair.

Before you go, check the dates for the specific venues you want to visit, not for "Round Top." A venue-by-venue calendar is more useful than a single headline date: if you show up on the 25th expecting the whole corridor, you'll have missed a week of the fields, while arriving on the 15th for Marburger puts you there before it opens.

The show runs three times a year on this pattern, with a big spring run, this fall run, and a smaller winter one in January.

How far is Round Top from Houston and Austin?

Round Top sits between Houston and Austin, roughly 90 miles from Houston and 80 miles from Austin, about an hour and a half either way along US-290. Houston is the primary Lugg market for the show, while Austin is close enough to be a natural second destination for shoppers taking large finds home.

Lugg serves pickups in Warrenton, and both Houston and Austin fall within the 150-mile delivery range. A nine-foot pine cupboard can go from the field to an address in Houston or Austin as a same-day Lugg instead of waiting for a freight route.

Do you actually need a truck for Round Top?

No, you don't need to bring a truck to Round Top. Bring one if you expect to buy several bulky pieces; otherwise, use an on-site shipper for a fragile or out-of-state purchase, or book same-day movers after you know what you've bought. Arriving without a truck also keeps the vehicle you drove from becoming the ceiling on what you're willing to buy.

You have three options:

Bring your own truck

Best if you're buying several smaller pieces, garden pieces or architectural salvage. Pack tarps; the fields are dirt and gravel, and rain is possible in October.

Use an on-site freight shipper

The organizer lists on-site shipping, and specialist antique shippers work the show. Use one for a genuinely fragile or valuable piece or anything going out of state. Ask about the delivery window, handling process and insurance before handing it over.

Book local delivery

Lugg serves Warrenton pickups, so you can book movers and a truck for the day you're there or the day after. The crew can meet you at the venue, load the piece and deliver it to Houston or Austin the same day.

How do you get a large Round Top purchase home without a truck?

1: Get the exact pickup details

Ask for the venue name, booth or field location, seller contact, pickup window and the piece's dimensions. Pay the seller before the movers arrive; Lugg can collect the item but can't complete the purchase for you. Some sellers in the back fields take cash, and card readers can lose signal, so confirm the payment method before pickup. Estate-sale sellers often set even shorter pickup windows, so getting estate-sale furniture home before the deadline starts with the same details: an exact address, a seller contact and a confirmed pickup time.

2: Choose freight shipping or local delivery

Use an on-site freight shipper for fragile, valuable or out-of-state pieces. For a home in Houston or Austin, Lugg can collect the item in Round Top or Warrenton and deliver it the same day. At the Country Living Fair in Rhinebeck, Lugg runs the Large Item Pickup area for shoppers buying furniture and antiques.

3: Confirm the vehicle, access and pickup time

Choose the vehicle based on the piece's dimensions, then tell the crew how close they can park and whether the loading route crosses dirt, gravel or grass. Book up to 60 days ahead, or request movers within the hour if you're deciding in the field. One Lugg can make up to five stops if you buy from several venues. If you're shopping October 31 or November 1, confirm the venue's closing time and the seller's pickup deadline before you book.

Shopping the whole eleven miles

Round Top rewards the person who can say yes to the thing they didn't expect to find, and that only works if the getting-it-home part is already handled. If you'd rather not turn down a farmhouse table because you brought the wrong car, book used-item delivery through Lugg: choose the vehicle once you know what you've bought, see the estimate before you commit and get it to Houston or Austin the same day.
