How to become a Lugg Helper: Earn money with your phone
Flexible hours, same-day pay, and on-the-go work in your city — all managed through your phone.

Becoming a Lugg Helper is one of the lowest-bar ways to start earning on Lugg. No vehicle, no equipment, no insurance — just a phone, the ability to lift safely, and the hours you want to work. Helpers ride with a Lugg Driver, handle the loading, unloading, and on-site customer piece of every move, and get paid the same day. The sign up takes about two minutes, and once you're activated you claim slots when you want to work.
What a Lugg Helper actually does
Most Lugg job operate as a two-Lugger crew: a Driver and a Helper. The Driver brings a qualifying vehicle (pickup, cargo van, sprinter, or box truck) plus basic moving equipment and muscle. The Helper brings a phone and muscle.
Here's how a slot works: you meet your Driver at the start of your slot — not at a job pickup — and you spend the full window together as a crew. Whatever jobs come in during that slot, you take them together.
How Lugg Helpers get paid
Lugg is slot-based, not shift-based — you claim a 4-, 5-, or 8-hour window when you want to work, and Lugg dispatches your crew to jobs during that window. Pay on each job is a percentage of the customer fare, tips are paid per move directly to the Lugger, and payouts hit the same day you work. Earnings vary: slot density depends on your market and the time of year — Saturdays in summer move serious volume. The Luggers who earn the most are the ones who consistently claim peak slots — weekends, summer, end of month.

How to become a Lugg Helper
1: Sign up online
Head to lugg.com/become-a-lugger and fill out the sign up form. It takes about two minutes. You'll confirm you're 18+, you can lift 100+ lbs safely, and you have a qualifying phone.
2: Complete onboarding
Go through Lugg's onboarding — short, on your phone — so you know how the app works, what's expected on a job, and how payouts work. Every Lugger goes through a standard background check. Most clear within a few days.
3: Claim slots and start working
Open the app, pick the slots that fit your week, and show up. You'll be paired with a Driver and work the slot together. Payouts hit the same night.
Most Helpers are activated within a week of signing up.
Requirements to become a Lugg Helper
- 18 or older
- Able to lift 100+ lbs safely and comfortably
- A recent iPhone or Android
- Able to pass a background check
- Comfortable communicating with customers and your Driver on the job
That's the full list. No CDL, no insurance, no vehicle inspection — those are Driver requirements.
Why people Lugg as Helpers
- No vehicle commitment. A Driver's truck is the asset. A Helper's only fixed cost is a phone they already own.
- Slot-based, not shift-based. Pick the windows that fit your week — but once you claim a slot, you're expected to show up. Customers are counting on the crew.
- Same-day pay. Finish your slot, payout hits that night.
- Physical, in-motion work. It's not a desk job. Most Helpers like that.
