How do I book Movers only with Lugg if I don't need a truck?

Book Movers only, Lugg's option for jobs that stay at one address. Enter your address, tap **Movers only** underneath it, then pick your crew size and a time. If you type the same address as both your pickup and your drop-off, the app suggests Movers only for you. There's no truck to book, and you'll see your upfront estimate before you confirm.

How do I choose my crew size for Movers only?

After you tap **Movers only**, the Crew screen asks you to pick **1 Lugger** or **2 Luggers**. 1 Lugger has the lower base fare and the lower per-minute labor rate, and suits a job one person can handle, like carrying boxes or moving lighter furniture. Pick 2 Luggers for anything that takes two people to carry, like a sofa, a dresser or a washer. Weight is the other thing to check. Lugg's weight limit is 125 lbs per Lugger, or 250 lbs per item when you pick 2 Luggers. If the job needs a bigger crew than that, book a second Movers only Lugg at the same address for the same time window. Each booking has its own base fare and per-minute labor, and Movers only has no mileage fee.

How does Lugg calculate my time?

The clock starts when the crew arrives at your address and stops when the last thing you asked for is done. Lugg bills that time by the minute with no minimum, so a 40-minute job costs 40 minutes. If the work finishes faster than you planned you only pay for what you used, and if it runs longer the crew can keep working at the same per-minute rate. You don't book a block of time, so it helps to have a rough idea of what jobs take: * **Rearranging furniture:** moving a few heavy items within your home usually takes about an hour. * **Loading or unloading a truck or pod:** 2–3 hours for a studio or one-bedroom, 3–5 hours for a two- or three-bedroom home. * **Event setup:** varies a lot, but an hour or two covers most table, chair and decor setups. The estimator in the Lugg app or on lugg.com works out an estimated cost from the crew size you pick and the time you expect.

What do Lugg movers bring?

Even on a Movers only job, your Luggers arrive with their own equipment: a dolly, moving blankets, stretch wrap, tie-down straps, forearm lifting straps, and a basic toolkit for light disassembly and reassembly. For a job where the crew both loads and unloads, you don't need to supply anything. They work to avoid marking floors, walls and elevators, and they're used to getting heavy furniture and appliances through tight doorways, up stairs and around landings.

Can Lugg movers load or unload a truck or container?

Yes, Luggers load and unload rental trucks, PODS containers and storage units every day. They know how to pack a load so it uses the space it has and doesn't shift on the drive — heavy pieces low and flat against the walls, padding between anything that can rub. One thing to plan for when the crew is loading but not unloading: their moving blankets are their own equipment and go back with them at the end of the job. If you want your furniture padded for the drive, or for a few months in storage, have your own blankets ready and the crew will use those. They'll bring stretch wrap either way, and anything loose should be boxed and taped before they arrive.

What can Lugg movers do on a Movers only job?

Anything that stays at one address. Customers book Movers only to: * Load or unload a rental truck, a moving container or a storage unit. * Set up and break down tables, chairs and decor for parties and events. * Rearrange furniture within a home or office. * Move something heavy, like a treadmill, a safe or a sleeper sofa, to a different room or floor. * Move furniture out before the floors get refinished, then back in once they're dry. * Clear out a garage or basement before a remodel. * Stage a home before a showing, or reconfigure an office. It also works between two buildings in the same complex, as long as your movers can carry everything over without a truck. If your things need to ride in a vehicle to get there, book a standard Lugg and your movers bring the vehicle.

Will Lugg pack my boxes?

No, Lugg does not provide packing or unpacking services. On a Movers only job, Luggers handle the heavy lifting: carrying, loading and unloading, placing furniture where you want it, and basic assembly and disassembly. Have loose items like dishes, books and clothes boxed and taped before the crew arrives, since Lugg doesn't supply boxes or packing materials. Because labor is billed by the minute, having everything ready to go is also the cheapest way to book.

I just need one extremely heavy item moved. Is a short Lugg like that worth it?

Yes, single-item jobs are one of the most common reasons people book Movers only. That's boxes and furniture carried out of the house and stacked so nothing shifts on the road, or the whole thing emptied at the other end with each piece carried to the room it belongs in. Lugg is an on-demand moving and delivery service that loads and unloads portable storage containers in Florida with Movers only, same day, for anyone who's already got the container and needs the lifting done.

Who loads a 1-800-PACK-RAT container?

Not 1-800-PACK-RAT. They deliver the container on a date you picked and come back for it on another one, and the loading in between is booked separately: they refer you out to a labor marketplace where you compare providers and pay by the hour. Lugg is one booking instead. Type in your address, tap Movers only, pick your crew size, and movers can be on the way in as little as an hour, or scheduled up to 60 days in advance. Labor's billed by the minute with no hourly minimum, so a container that takes forty-five minutes to load pays for forty-five minutes of labor. If the container turns up late, you can move the booking to another day, any time before the crew is dispatched.

What takes the time on a container job

1-800-PACK-RAT sets the container down where the delivery truck can get to, which is a driveway, a parking space, or the street, and rarely right outside your door. That carry is usually the clock, more than the stacking is: a long driveway, a walk out to a shared lot, or a flight of stairs before you even get outside. Unloading has its own version of this, because everything at the back of the container comes out last. Say which rooms things belong in before the crew starts and the boxes end up where they're meant to, rather than stacking up in the hallway.
