Above and beyond! Offered to help with even the trash we had on the 4th floor walkup, and were very kind - Alicia

They moved a fragile piece of furniture for me and were careful to wrap each individual piece. They were communicative about their arrival and took all the trash with them. Appreciated their service and would hire them again. - Olivia

They were on-time, friendly, and very helpful to clean up old furniture/trash before placing the new furniture! - Kyle

Sadiki and Kevin were an absolute pleasure! They helped me move lots of donation boxes as well as boxes coming to my new place and checked everything thoroughly. There were quick and friendly, I would absolutely reccomend them - Taylor

The pickup was great. However, when they got to the drop off location, which was the west side housing works location, they were told that bed frames were not accepted. I had specifically filled out that I sending 2 twin bed frames and 4 counter stools, and dishes. As I found your company on the Housing works website, and entered exactly what I was donating, this makes no sense. Then there was a question as to whether I had paid you as a company- Lugg, which I also didn’t understand as I had given a credit card and a payment. It seems you have no association with housing works, and these two people don’t seem to actually work for you. Independent contractors perhaps? They were lovely, but the process was a failure. - Beverly

They sent a photo showing the furniture dropped off at donation center. The best time experience I have had using Lugg! - Diana

John was great and helped us move some donation items! In the end, some items were not accepted and John helped get them back to us with grace! - Jean

I accidentally sent these guys to the wrong donation drop-off location and they took the time to contact me and drive over to the right spot. I really appreciated the extra help!! - Lindsay

Alonso and Denmark right on time. Alonso was exceptional - friendly, professional. Both worked efficiently and were out of my home quickly and made a prompt delivery to the nonprofit where I donated the furniture. - Erickson

Carlos and Kevin were incredible. Very friendly and efficient, and helped make my donation to Habitat for Humanity a seamless experience. - Archana

The best! So helpful and thankful for their help on getting some (a LOT) of boxes to a donation center. Thank you so much! - Colleen

He picked up items for donation very efficiently, and arrive at drop off before it opened. He stuck around to see if there was a way to drop it off and someone was able to let him in. Lansana really made my day with his persistence and helped take a huge weight off my shoulders! - Bridget

They came quickly and loaded all of our donations into the back of their Sprinter van. Goodwill kind of screwed us because they said they take furniture on their website. But thankfully, our Luggers found a new family for our chairs outside of the Goodwill. Life is funny but I'm happy they went to a new home! - Melissa

Garfield and Annur were incredibly professional and punctual for the move. They took all the boxes and paper to the recycling center near me and handled everything seamlessly. Absolutely recommend both of them! - Nina

Elvis and Travis were punctual and communicative. They moved a sleeper couch from the UES to Bed-Stuy in an hour!! They called when they arrived without spamming the ringer which was greatly appreciated 😂 overall would book them again - Grace

Friendly and efficient guys. My sleeper couch was a pain to move and they were patient and got the job done. - Desta

Cordelli and Saynee were amazing! They moved a sleeper sofa from one house to another. Space in both dwellings was very tight but they made it work and I am so happy! I highly recommend Cordelli and Saynee! - Susan

The most amazing human beings I have ever met! They’re so friendly and genuine. Went above and beyond to help me bring the sleeper sofa into my apartment. I hope I get them next time I book a lugg. - Yessenia

Hector and Eddie were great! They were on time and they managed to get the recliner through a tight doorway. Thank you guys! I’d definitely use Lugg and Eddie & Hector again. - Patricia

They were fantastic! Took such great care of our mid century loveseat. Wrapped it up and moved it like a charm. Thanks guys - Christelle

So quick and efficient! I needed a loveseat transported and these guys picked it up in record time and expertly maneuvered it into my building. - Taylor

These guys were great. Took apart a sectional couch and carried it down a 4th floor walk up, and then reassembled it in the new apartment. Very friendly - Calvin

Faber and Lucner are AMAZING they somehow worked their magic and got my sectional in up through my 3 floor walk up and smaller than normal door frame they’re fast and efficient. Definitely recommend!!! - Isabel

These guys were fantastic! Moved our sectional in like professionals while it rained and had such good attitudes about it. Couldn’t recommend them enough! - Landon

Getting rid of a couch takes two things: somewhere that will take it, and a way to get it there. You find the destination, whether that's a dump, a recycling center or a donation center, and a couch removal service does the carrying and the driving. Lugg movers are on the way within an hour, or you pick a one-hour window that suits you. They carry the sofa out of whatever room it's sitting in, load it, and drive it to the drop-off, so you're neither wrestling it down a stairwell nor borrowing a truck to reach a transfer station. One booking can make up to five stops, which is what a living-room swap usually needs: the sectional that's still good goes to a donation center and the broken recliner goes to the dump. Lugg is an on-demand moving and delivery service that carries an old couch out of the building and hauls it to the dump, recycling center or donation center you name.
Couch disposal is priced per job rather than as a flat fee. You'll see your estimate before you book. It's based on the vehicle you choose plus the labor time the movers spend, priced by the minute. There's no hourly minimum, so a single sofa down one flight doesn't get rounded up to a half-day block. A walk-up, a long carry out to the street and a slow elevator all take longer, and that time reads as labor minutes. You can cancel any time before the movers arrive at no charge.
Whichever facility in Newark takes the couch charges its own fee for accepting it, based on weight. Your Luggers pay that on site so you don't need to go along, and it reaches your card as a separate charge after the Lugg is finished. It sits outside your estimate rather than inside it.
The drop-off address goes on the booking the same way any second stop would. If the sofa is still in good shape, a donation center is usually the cheapest ending it can have.
Charities set their own condition standards rather than following one national rule, most won't take a couch that's torn or stained, and a piece can still be turned down when it arrives at the door. A rejection costs you the trip and leaves you with the couch and a second run to the dump, so check with your local center that they'll take it before you put their address on the booking. If it isn't in good enough shape to donate, sofa disposal means a transfer station or landfill, which takes it by weight.
A couch on the way out doesn't need measuring. It came in through that door once, so it goes out through it. What's left is weight and angles. A sleeper hides a steel folding frame and weighs far more than the same sofa without one. A sectional splits into pieces that travel one at a time. A full-size couch in a narrow stairwell turns on the landing, not the doorway.
Lugg can move items up to 250 lbs each, or up to 125 lbs on a Lugg Lite. Pick the vehicle for the load when you book, and add a second stop if part of the set is going somewhere different from the rest.
There are three usual ways to get rid of a sofa: the curb, a charity, or a haul-away. If your city runs a bulk pickup day and you can wait for the date, that's the cheapest way to lose a couch, as long as you can get it to the curb yourself. That last part is where most people stop, because a sofa is manageable across a level driveway and close to impossible down three flights.
A charity will sometimes collect it for free, on their truck and their calendar, and the same condition standards decide whether they take it. A couch haul-away is for when the couch has to be gone on a date you pick rather than one you're offered. And if your city is already collecting from the curb and the only hard part is the staircase, book Lugg in Newark for labor only and skip the second address: same movers, no drop-off.
