These guys were absolute machines! They arrived right on time and got straight to work. I was genuinely impressed (and a little worried for their safety!) by how fast they moved. They navigated a heavy sleeper sofa around a tight L-shaped corner in record time, then zipped through several smaller items without missing a beat. Incredibly efficient—highly recommend! They were also nice & friendly. - Michelle

this man that came to my house today was amazing. I initially hired somebody to help me move my peloton bike, which is very heavy by the way downstairs into my basement from my living room and when he showed up, he was on time he was courteous. He was polite. He was a professional, and he assess the situation and he did the whole thing by himself. I was completely blown away. I tried to help, but he said that he had it and that it was no problem. I really wanna leave him a tip. I should've given him cash before he left, but I didn't and you know I'm having a real hard time putting the tip on the on the app and I just wanted to know that I'm not gonna stop until I find a way to send this man some kind of tip. Thank you. - Amanda

I had an amazing experience with Erick from Lugg! He went above and beyond helping me move a very heavy Murphy bed and a chair to my cousin’s place. This wasn’t just a simple job—it required strength, patience, and serious professionalism. From the moment he arrived, he was courteous, efficient, and extremely careful with the furniture. Refrigerator movers in Alexandria, from one kitchen to the next
A refrigerator is the one appliance nobody wants to move themselves: it's tall, top-heavy, and it usually went in before the counters, the cabinets or the new flooring did. With Lugg, you pick the truck that fits your fridge, enter your addresses, and see your upfront estimate before you book anything. Lugg is an on-demand moving and delivery service in Alexandria that moves refrigerators, freezers and mini fridges, whether one is going to a new home, out to the garage, or home from the store or a Facebook Marketplace seller.
Most refrigerators should travel standing upright, so book a Pickup, XL or Box. A Van isn't recommended for a full-size fridge: its cargo area is 4.5 ft tall, too short to stand one up.
How much does it cost to move a refrigerator in Alexandria?
The cost to move a refrigerator with Lugg is an upfront estimate you see before you book, built from the distance between your addresses plus the time the job takes on site. There are no hourly minimums, so one fridge going across town is never priced like a whole-home move.
Fridge movers carry it up stairs, into elevators and down long hallways. If the old fridge needs to go somewhere too, that's a second stop on the same booking, not a second booking.
How to move a refrigerator: getting it ready before the movers arrive
Moving a refrigerator goes faster when it's ready. Empty it the day before, take out the loose shelves and drawers, and defrost the freezer so it isn't dripping in the truck. If it has an ice maker or a water dispenser, shut off the water and disconnect the line, since Lugg movers don't touch plumbing.
Then check your manual for two things: whether it can travel on its side, and how long it should stand upright before you plug it back in.
Refrigerator delivery from the store or a seller, with the old fridge moved too
If you've bought a fridge and the store's delivery date is a week away, you can book a Lugg to collect it from the store or a private seller today, so fridge delivery doesn't have to wait on the store's schedule.
One Lugg holds up to 5 stops, so Lugg movers can carry the new fridge into the kitchen and move the old one to the garage, the basement or a second home on the same booking.
Mini fridges, chest freezers and the extra fridge in the garage
Not every fridge move starts in a kitchen. Lugg movers carry mini fridges to dorms, chest freezers up from basements and spare fridges out to the garage, and the smaller ones often fit in a pickup truck.
Full-size models are another matter. Lugg's weight limit is 125 lbs per Lugger, or 250 lbs per item on any vehicle that comes with two Luggers: Pickup, Van, XL, Box or Box+. Anything heavier needs more Luggers on the job, so book a second Lugg for the same time window.
