What supplies and protective equipment will my Luggers bring for my senior move?

Every Lugg senior move in Chicago includes professional moving equipment — straps, dollies, moving blankets, and stretch wrap to protect your items and your space, plus a basic toolkit for light disassembly or reassembly. Pickup trucks also come equipped with a tarp for weather protection.

Your Luggers will wrap fragile or bulky pieces for safe transport, take care to avoid damage to floors, walls, and elevators, and are trained to move heavy furniture, appliances, and other large items safely through tight spaces, stairs, and doorways. This helps ensure a smooth, efficient senior move from start to finish.

We do not provide moving boxes or mattress covers. Please have these items ready if needed.

Can Lugg provide a Certificate of Insurance (COI) for apartment or building moves in Chicago?

Most senior moves should be booked with two Luggers to ensure safe lifting, loading, and placement. For heavier items over 200 lbs, we recommend booking multiple Luggs for safe handling or having someone available to help the crew.

Can I request extra Luggers for larger senior moves?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can add extra Luggers if your move involves multiple rooms, stairs, or heavy furniture. Just book another Lugg for the same time window, and we'll coordinate the additional crew and truck in Chicago.

Question 11

Do I need to pack my items before my senior move?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Lugg does not provide packing services or supplies, so please box or bag any small, loose, or fragile items before your crew arrives. This includes things like kitchenware, electronics accessories, office supplies, dorm essentials, and any items that could shift during transport.

Your Luggers will bring moving supplies and equipment to protect furniture and larger pieces, but having your items packed ahead of time helps keep your move quick, organized, and damage-free.

Can I ride in the truck with my items?

No. For safety and insurance reasons, customers cannot ride in the truck with their items.

How can I track my move and stay in touch with my Luggers?

Accepted Answer

You'll get text and push notifications with live tracking once your crew is on the way. You can message or call your Luggers directly through the app. Real-time updates show when your items are loaded, in transit, and delivered. iPhone users can also follow along through [Live Activities](https://blog.lugg.com/iphone-live-activities-delivery-tracking-lugg/) on their Lock Screen or Apple Watch.

Question 14

Can Lugg throw away packaging, remove trash, or haul away old items?

Accepted Answer

Yes, if you need packaging thrown away on-site — such as taking trash to an on-site dumpster or moving an old item to the curb for city pickup — your Luggers can handle that (billed at the standard labor rate).

If you want to haul away packaging/trash, or donate old/unwanted items, just add an extra stop (or stops) when booking. We can take it to a recycling facility or donate it to a local charity, including centers like [Goodwill](https://lugg.com/goodwill-industries-pick-up) or [Habitat ReStore](https://lugg.com/habitat-for-humanity-pick-up)  near Chicago.

**Tip**: Donation and disposal centers vary widely in what they accept, so we recommend calling ahead to confirm they can take your items, as well as checking their hours and any potential fees.

What happens if an item gets damaged during my senior move?
