What's the best way to move a hot tub without renting a truck in Chicago?

The easiest way to move a hot tub in Chicago without renting a truck is by booking Lugg. We provide movers and a truck on demand — no truck rental, deposits, or driving required. Your Luggers handle all the lifting, transport, and room-of-choice placement. The standard [weight limit](https://lugg.com/help/general/does-lugg-have-weight-limits) is 250 lbs per item for a 2-Lugger booking. Many large items like hot tubs, pool tables, and pianos exceed this — for those, book additional Luggers or have someone available to help, for safe handling.

Does Lugg offer on-demand hot tub moves in Chicago?

Yes, Lugg provides true on-demand hot tub moves in Chicago with arrival within the hour. That means you can have movers pick up and deliver your bulky item the same day you buy it. You can also schedule up to 60 days in advance, perfect for coordinating deliveries.

Can Lugg pick up my hot tub from a retailer, warehouse, or marketplace seller in Chicago?

Yes, Lugg can pick up and deliver from big-box stores like Home Depot and HomeGoods, local shops, and from online marketplace sellers on platforms such as Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist in Chicago. At the destination, your Luggers will deliver your hot tub to your room of choice and place it right where you want it.

Are there size or weight limits for my hot tub move?

Yes, the standard [weight limit](https://lugg.com/help/general/does-lugg-have-weight-limits) is 125 lbs per item per Lugger. Many large items like hot tubs, pool tables, and pianos exceed this, and for those, we recommend booking multiple crews, or having someone available to help the crew.

Do I need to arrange parking for my hot tub move?

Yes, you are responsible for securing safe and legal parking for your hot tub move. If a permit is required at your location in Chicago, please arrange it in advance. If safe parking isn't available, your Lugg may need to be canceled and your move rescheduled. Please note that wait time is billable.

Will Lugg bring my hot tub inside and place it where I want?

Yes, every Lugg booking includes room-of-choice placement for your hot tub move. Just let your Luggers know where you'd like your item(s) placed. Please note that we do not provide mounting or installation services.

What happens if my hot tub gets damaged during the move?

We always recommend inspecting your hot tub upon arrival. In the rare event that damage occurs to your item(s) or your property in Chicago, our Support Team will promptly review the issue, coordinate any necessary repairs or replacements, and work with you to make things right. To file a damage claim, [get in touch through our contact page](https://lugg.com/contact) or use live chat. We'll guide you through the next steps and may ask you to hold the item while we review and resolve the issue as quickly as possible. For more details, see our Help Center article: [What if my items or location get damaged?](https://lugg.com/help/after/what-if-my-items-or-location-get-damaged)

Is there a long-distance fee for trips over 30 miles?

Yes. When your stops add up to more than 30 miles, Lugg adds a long-distance fee on top of your normal per-mile rate. There is no added fee for the first 30 miles, miles 31 to 50 add $2 each, and every mile above 50 adds $2.50. So a 40-mile route adds $20, and a 60-mile route adds $65. The same tiers apply to every vehicle size, and to partner store deliveries as well as standard Luggs. Lugg measures the distance between your own stops, not the drive your Luggers make to reach your first pickup, and adds up the whole route before rounding up once to the next whole mile. The fee is included in the upfront estimate you see before you book and itemized on your receipt, and any promo code or discount applies as usual. Labor-only bookings, business accounts, and custom or negotiated rates are excluded.

When most movers probably would have thrown in the towel, these guys persevered and got the job done! Their task was to pick up a very bulky couch from my parents’ house and deliver it to my son’s apartment. And when I say the passageway into his apartment was narrow… I mean NARROW! 😂 They never gave up. They carefully disassembled the couch, somehow maneuvered it through the tight space, and then reassembled it once they got it inside. They had excellent communication throughout the entire process and kept us informed every step of the way. They were hardworking, determined, careful, and incredibly professional. It was clear that they genuinely wanted to do the job right. 5-star service all around! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I would absolutely recommend these guys to anyone looking for movers. They earned every one of those stars! - Zaina

Angel and Julian are the best! They were able to make it here quickly and get to work right away. They were extremely professional and do an amazing job. They were so exceptionally great at doing a very tricky job with ease and experience. I will use your services often, as long as I can get Angel and Julian to come back out to help... they are the very best! They are very friendly and personable gentlemen and were so incredibly kind to me! I am handicapped due to having M.S. and am in constant pain & suffer from painful joint dysplasia. The guys noticed that I was in pain and were so kind to be, making sure to check in to see if I was alright! I really appreciate everything they did for me today and will be sure to use your services again and again! I feel so lucky to have them available today and can not express how much I appreciate their help, time, expertise and hard work and am blown away by their intense work ethic and professionalism! They go far above and beyond and are absolutely terrific! I can wait to refer them and your services to several of people in the near future! I own several apartment buildings and am often asked for referrals for great movers. I am glad to have great trust in you, now that I am aware of the type of people that you hire and am more than happy to refer your services to my Tenants and other customers that trust me for referrals to the best in goods and services! I can't say enough about Angel and Julian, they were absolutely the very best! Thank you kindly, Leanore R. Goetz - Leanore
