Does Lugg have weight limits?
Yes. For the safety of your Luggers, your belongings, and your home, Lugg has a weight limit of 125 pounds per Lugger per item — that's 250 pounds per item for a two-person crew.
This limit applies to each individual item, not the total weight of your move.
What if I have an item over 250 pounds?
Lugg customers frequently move items over 250 pounds — like pianos, safes, and marble tables. Here's how:
Book an additional Lugg: Schedule a second Lugg at the same time with the same addresses so a second crew arrives to help with the heavy item. If you only need one extra set of hands, book a Lite. If you need two, book a Pickup.
Have extra hands on site: If the item is only slightly over the limit, you or someone you know can be at the pickup and drop-off locations to assist your crew.
If you're not sure what the best option is for your move, reach out to Lugg's support team at support@lugg.com and we'll help you figure it out.
What about steep or narrow stairs?
Your crew will always work to get your item where it needs to go. But on steep or narrow stairs, the Lugger below ends up carrying almost the full weight of the item — and that's where the real risk comes in. So if a staircase makes an item unsafe to carry, they may adjust their approach, recommend booking a second crew to handle the lift together, or need to hold off on that piece. This is about keeping your crew, your home, and your belongings safe.
