Do I need to be at the pickup or drop-off location?
For most Luggs, no — you don't need to be at every location. For store deliveries, donations, and recycling drop-offs, your Luggers handle it. For residential moves, we recommend someone is on site at both the pickup and drop-off.
Store deliveries
You just found the perfect sofa at your local furniture shop or a new refrigerator from the appliance store. No need to wait around at the store — head home, relax, and let your Luggers bring it to you. Just attach a photo of your receipt when you book your delivery, or text it to your Luggers once they're en route to the store.
Some stores have specific pickup requirements — like verifying an order number or showing a receipt in person — so it's worth confirming with the store ahead of time.
What if no one's home for the delivery? If your Luggers arrive at your drop-off and no one is there to accept the items, they'll reach out to you for instructions. If you'd like contactless delivery — items left on the porch, at the door, or in the driveway — just leave those instructions in the 'What are you moving?' field when you book, or let your Luggers know via text. If no one is home, no alternate instructions are provided, and your Luggers are unable to get in contact with you, they'll return the items to the store and you'll see the additional drive time reflected in your bill.
Donation and recycling drop-offs
Clearing out the garage or finally parting with that old sectional? You don't need to ride along to the drop-off. Your Luggers will take your items to the donation center or recycling facility for you — just sit back and enjoy the extra space.
Residential moves
Whether it's a home move or an office relocation, we recommend that you or someone you trust is at both the pickup and drop-off. Having someone on site means your Luggers can confirm which items to take, know exactly which room to place things in at your new home, and check in with you if anything comes up, like a tricky staircase or a piece of furniture that needs extra care.
Can't be there in person? Plenty of customers coordinate their moves remotely. Just make sure your Luggers have clear instructions and all the access details sorted in advance — gate codes, building entry, elevator reservations, that kind of thing.
Storage moves
For storage moves, you often don't need to be there. Many storage facilities offer remote access or will let your Luggers in directly. Just confirm with your facility ahead of time and make sure your Luggers have everything they need to get in — like a gate code, unit number, or facility check-in instructions.
If you'd like to be on site to direct the crew, you're always welcome to meet them there.
Marketplace pickups
Scored a vintage dresser on Facebook Marketplace or picking up finds from an estate sale? Coordinate with the seller to confirm how the handoff will work. If they're leaving the item on the porch for contactless pickup, no one even needs to be home. If the Luggers need to be let inside, the seller or someone they designate should be available.
Adding a contact to your Lugg
You can add a contact to your Lugg so someone else can track the move in real time and communicate directly with your Luggers via call or text. This is handy if a friend, family member, seller, or building manager is meeting the crew on your behalf.
