Is there a long-distance fee?
Yes. If your stops add up to more than 30 miles, your Lugg includes a long-distance fee on top of the usual per-mile rate. You'll see it in the upfront estimate before you book and itemized on your receipt afterward, so it's never a surprise.
How the fee is calculated
First 30 miles: no added fee
Miles 31 to 50: $2.00 per mile
Miles above 50: $2.50 per mile
Lugg adds up the distance across every stop on your route, then rounds up once to the next whole mile. Only the miles inside each tier are charged at that tier's rate.
Examples
A 25-mile route: no long-distance fee at all.
A 40-mile route: $20. That's 10 miles past the first 30, at $2 each.
A 60-mile route: $65. That's $40 for miles 31 to 50, plus $25 for miles 51 to 60.
What it applies to
The same tiers apply to every vehicle size, from Lite through Box+, and to partner store deliveries as well as standard Luggs. On a partner store delivery the fee is part of the fixed price you're quoted at booking, so the price you see is still the price you pay.
What distance is measured
The fee is based on the distance between your own stops, added up across the whole route. It doesn't include the drive your Luggers make to reach your first pickup, and it isn't affected by traffic, detours, tolls, or the route your crew chooses.
If you have several stops, it's the combined route that counts. Three 12-mile legs add up to 36 miles, which means a small long-distance fee even though no single leg is long. See Can I have multiple stops in a single Lugg? for how multi-stop routes work.
What's excluded
The long-distance fee doesn't apply to:
Labor-only bookings, where there's no truck and no mileage
Organization-owned bookings
Custom or negotiated rates
Promo codes and discounts come off your total as normal, and your Luggers' pay is unaffected by this fee.
