What types of furniture can Lugg move and deliver in Chicago?

Lugg moves all types of furniture, from couches, sectionals, and recliners to bed frames, dressers, dining tables, and office desks. We also handle bulkier pieces like armoires, credenzas, mattresses, and patio sets. Whether it's a single sofa, a full apartment setup, or multiple items from a store or marketplace purchase, your Luggers secure, pad, and move it safely and efficiently.

Does Lugg provide same-day & next-day dresser deliveries in Chicago?

Yes, Lugg provides on-demand, same-day, and next-day dresser deliveries. You can book movers and a truck within the hour, or schedule up to 60 days in advance for a time that works best for you.

What supplies and protective equipment will my Luggers bring for my dresser delivery?

Every Lugg dresser delivery in Chicago includes professional moving equipment, straps, dollies, moving blankets, and stretch wrap to protect your items and your space, plus a basic toolkit for light disassembly or reassembly. Pickup trucks also come equipped with a tarp for weather protection. Your Luggers will wrap fragile or bulky pieces for safe transport, take care to avoid damage to floors, walls, and elevators, and know how to get heavy furniture, appliances, and other large items through tight spaces, stairs, and doorways. This helps ensure a smooth, efficient dresser delivery from start to finish. We do not provide moving boxes or mattress covers. Please have these items ready if needed.

My building is a walk-up with stairs and no elevator, can Lugg still help with my dresser delivery?

Yes, Luggers in Chicago are experienced with walk-ups and tight spaces. Your Lugg crew will carefully bring your furniture to or from your room of choice, exactly where you want it. **Heavy dresser notice:** Please confirm stairs are wide enough to accommodate safe placement, as Luggers can't hoist appliances or use ladders.

What size truck and crew should I book for my dresser delivery?

Pick the truck that fits what you're moving. Almost every option is a two-Lugger booking, so crew size isn't usually the decision — the Lugg Lite is the exception. * Lite: 6 ft+ long × 4.5 ft wide. A single Lugger with a pickup truck, for a stack of boxes or a few lighter pieces. * Pickup: 6 ft+ long × 4.5 ft wide. The same truck as the Lite, with a second Lugger. * Van: 8 ft+ long × 4 ft wide × 4.5 ft tall. Enclosed, so better in bad weather. * XL: 10 ft+ long × 5.5 ft wide × 6.4 ft tall. * Box: 12–16 ft long × 6 ft wide × 7 ft tall. * Box+: 18–24 ft long × 6 ft wide × 7 ft tall. The largest option, built for commercial relocations and anything that needs maximum cargo space. **Tip**: Pickup trucks carry a tarp for light rain, but book an enclosed truck — Van, XL, Box or Box+ — if heavier rain is forecast. When in doubt, size up. Not all box trucks have a lift gate. If your dresser delivery needs one, say so in the '**What are you moving?**' field when booking and Lugg will do its best to accommodate.

Do I need to arrange parking for my dresser delivery?

Yes, you are responsible for securing safe and legal parking for your dresser delivery. If a permit is required at your location in Chicago, please arrange it in advance. If safe parking isn't available, your Lugg may need to be canceled and your delivery rescheduled. Please note that wait time is billable.

Can Lugg handle disassembling, assembling, or setting up my dresser?

Yes, Lugg crews in Chicago can assist with basic assembly, disassembly, or setup, things like attaching legs, headboards, or reassembling bed frames, billed at your normal labor rate. If your dresser requires special instructions or tools, please have them ready for your crew. **Store Delivery Exception:** Flat-rate store deliveries only include up to 15 minutes of labor at each location for loading/unloading. Assembly is not included, though Luggers may assist with a quick setup if it fits within that time.

Can Lugg pick up my new dresser and haul away, recycle, or donate the old one on the same trip?

Yes, Lugg can pick up your new dresser and then haul away the old one to a recycling facility or donate it to a local charity, including donation centers like [Goodwill](https://lugg.com/goodwill-donation-pickup) or [Habitat ReStore](https://lugg.com/habitat-for-humanity-donation-pickup) near Chicago. Just add an extra stop when booking your delivery. **Tip**: Donation and disposal centers vary widely in what they accept, so we recommend calling ahead to confirm they can take your dresser, along with their hours and any potential fees.

Will Lugg unbox items from my dresser delivery?

For regular local moves/deliveries in Chicago, Luggers can help with unboxing and basic placement; time is billed at your normal labor rate. If you'd like us to also haul away packing debris, add an additional stop to a local recycling or disposal center. For flat-rate partner store deliveries coverage includes pickup and room-of-choice placement only, unboxing, setup, and packaging removal aren't included. If you'd like us to also haul away packing debris, add an additional stop to a local recycling or disposal center.

What if my dresser item is oversized?

Please note special handling in your booking. We recommend a 2-Lugger crew and cleared pathways. For delicate items, Luggers use pads and wrap; extra time may be required for safe handling.

How should I prepare for my dresser delivery?

Measure doorways/hallways, clear pathways, and secure pets. If you live in an apartment building or condo, check with your property manager about elevator or dock reservations. Please have your phone on for driver contact and ensure parking is available.

Can Lugg help move items within my home/building or to the curb?

Yes, you can set pickup and drop-off to the same address for in-home rearranging (room swaps, up/downstairs) or curb placement. For lowest base fare, book a Pickup Truck, even if no truck use is needed.

What happens if my dresser gets damaged during the delivery?

We always recommend inspecting your dresser upon arrival. In the rare event that damage occurs to your item(s) or your property in Chicago, our Support Team will promptly review the issue, coordinate any necessary repairs or replacements, and work with you to make things right. To file a damage claim, [get in touch through our contact page](https://lugg.com/contact) or use live chat. We'll guide you through the next steps and may ask you to hold the item while we review and resolve the issue as quickly as possible. For more details, see our Help Center article: [What if my items or location get damaged?](https://lugg.com/help/after/what-if-my-items-or-location-get-damaged)

Is there a long-distance fee for trips over 30 miles?

Yes. When your stops add up to more than 30 miles, Lugg adds a long-distance fee on top of your normal per-mile rate. There is no added fee for the first 30 miles, miles 31 to 50 add $2 each, and every mile above 50 adds $2.50. So a 40-mile route adds $20, and a 60-mile route adds $65. The same tiers apply to every vehicle size, and to partner store deliveries as well as standard Luggs. Lugg measures the distance between your own stops, not the drive your Luggers make to reach your first pickup, and adds up the whole route before rounding up once to the next whole mile. The fee is included in the upfront estimate you see before you book and itemized on your receipt, and any promo code or discount applies as usual. Labor-only bookings, business accounts, and custom or negotiated rates are excluded.
