How do I book Movers only with Lugg if I don't need a truck?

Book Movers only in San Diego, Lugg's option for jobs that stay at one address. Enter your address, tap **Movers only** underneath it, then pick your crew size and a time. If you type the same address as both your pickup and your drop-off, the app suggests Movers only for you. There's no truck to book, and you'll see your upfront estimate before you confirm.

How do I choose my crew size for Movers only?

After you tap **Movers only**, the Crew screen asks you to pick **1 Lugger** or **2 Luggers**. 1 Lugger has the lower base fare and the lower per-minute labor rate, and suits a job one person can handle, like carrying boxes or moving lighter furniture. Pick 2 Luggers for anything that takes two people to carry, like a sofa, a dresser or a washer. Weight is the other thing to check. Lugg's weight limit is 125 lbs per Lugger, or 250 lbs per item when you pick 2 Luggers. If the job needs a bigger crew than that, book a second Movers only Lugg at the same address for the same time window. Each booking has its own base fare and per-minute labor, and Movers only has no mileage fee.

How does Lugg calculate my time?

The clock starts when the crew arrives at your address and stops when the last thing you asked for is done. Lugg bills that time by the minute with no minimum, so a 40-minute job costs 40 minutes. If the work finishes faster than you planned you only pay for what you used, and if it runs longer the crew can keep working at the same per-minute rate. You don't book a block of time, so it helps to have a rough idea of what jobs take: * **Rearranging furniture:** moving a few heavy items within your home usually takes about an hour. * **Loading or unloading a truck or pod:** 2–3 hours for a studio or one-bedroom, 3–5 hours for a two- or three-bedroom home. * **Event setup:** varies a lot, but an hour or two covers most table, chair and decor setups. The estimator in the Lugg app or on lugg.com works out an estimated cost from the crew size you pick and the time you expect.

What do Lugg movers bring?

Even on a Movers only job in San Diego, your Luggers arrive with their own equipment: a dolly, moving blankets, stretch wrap, tie-down straps, forearm lifting straps, and a basic toolkit for light disassembly and reassembly. For a job where the crew both loads and unloads, you don't need to supply anything. They work to avoid marking floors, walls and elevators, and they're used to getting heavy furniture and appliances through tight doorways, up stairs and around landings.

Can Lugg movers load or unload a truck or container?

Yes, Luggers load and unload rental trucks, PODS containers and storage units in San Diego every day. They know how to pack a load so it uses the space it has and doesn't shift on the drive — heavy pieces low and flat against the walls, padding between anything that can rub. One thing to plan for when the crew is loading but not unloading: their moving blankets are their own equipment and go back with them at the end of the job. If you want your furniture padded for the drive, or for a few months in storage, have your own blankets ready and the crew will use those. They'll bring stretch wrap either way, and anything loose should be boxed and taped before they arrive.

What can Lugg movers do on a Movers only job?

Anything that stays at one address. Customers book Movers only to: * Load or unload a rental truck, a moving container or a storage unit. * Set up and break down tables, chairs and decor for parties and events. * Rearrange furniture within a home or office. * Move something heavy, like a treadmill, a safe or a sleeper sofa, to a different room or floor. * Move furniture out before the floors get refinished, then back in once they're dry. * Clear out a garage or basement before a remodel. * Stage a home before a showing, or reconfigure an office. It also works between two buildings in the same complex, as long as your movers can carry everything over without a truck. If your things need to ride in a vehicle to get there, book a standard Lugg and your movers bring the vehicle.

Will Lugg pack my boxes?

No, Lugg does not provide packing or unpacking services. On a Movers only job, Luggers handle the heavy lifting: carrying, loading and unloading, placing furniture where you want it, and basic assembly and disassembly. Have loose items like dishes, books and clothes boxed and taped before the crew arrives, since Lugg doesn't supply boxes or packing materials. Because labor is billed by the minute, having everything ready to go is also the cheapest way to book.

I just need one extremely heavy item moved. Is a short Lugg like that worth it?

Yes, single-item jobs are one of the most common reasons people book Movers only in San Diego. A sleeper sofa that has to go upstairs, a treadmill that has to get down to the basement, a safe that needs to move one room over: all of them are hard or unsafe to do alone. And because labor is billed by the minute with no hourly minimum, a fifteen-minute job pays for fifteen minutes of labor on top of the base fare.

Pankaj and Rate were wonderful. They strategized and organized the placement of three heavy items in my truck and strapped the whole thing very well so that I would be safe on the freeway. I’ve used Lugg 5 or 6 times in the past year and always been more than satisfied. It made my day today to get these items moved. Pankaj and Rate’s help made the whole process possible and they were light hearted and positive all the way through. - Leigh

Hector was great! He was respectful, kind, quick, knew exactly what we needed to transport our heavy item and his service was exactly what we needed. This is the first time we’ve used any type of services and because of such a great experience we will be returning customers in the future. As soon as I sent in a request for help online, Hector was assigned to me right away and was able to have a confirmed pick up/drop off set within minutes. If I could give 10 starts for Hector I would! Solid guy! - Alisha

Wilson and Kalifa were absolutely outstanding. They showed up right on time, communicated clearly, and tackled what can only be described as a Peloton Tread+ relocation obstacle course with professionalism and ease. This wasn’t a simple move—the treadmill is incredibly heavy (460lbs!), the stairs were challenging, and there were plenty of opportunities for things to go sideways. Instead, they handled every step with teamwork, skill, and a level of confidence that made the whole process look easy. They were careful, efficient, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was completed exactly the way I wanted. Watching them maneuver that treadmill was like witnessing a synchronized Olympic event: equal parts strength, precision, and grace. My back started hurting just watching them do the work. If you’re lucky enough to get Wilson and Kalifa on your job, you’re in great hands. I would hire them again in a heartbeat and highly recommend them to anyone who needs movers who bring both muscles and professionalism to the table. Five stars all day long. - Bryan

Jeremy and Henry were awesome. Excellent communication beforehand and while moving. They were able to move even more items than I had expected and moved so quickly. They expertly moved my large, heavy couch (that I struggle to push around) down a set of stairs and a super narrow alley. They made the process so quick and easy, and they were also really kind, friendly people. Hi Lugg Team- shout-out to John and Brad! The furniture store did not disassemble the dining table we ordered (even though we requested them to do so) so this move was tough as the table was super heavy. John and Brad still powered through and helped us maneuver the table into our storage unit. Cheers Ps. (We gave them a cash tip when they left, so i will leave that field blank here in the app) - Kristina

Movers only in San Diego: labor-only moving help when you just need movers

Sometimes the job needs people, not a truck. You need help loading a moving truck you rented or the PODS in the driveway, a sleeper sofa has to get up three flights of stairs, you're rearranging furniture before a showing, the tables and chairs need setting up for an event, or everything has to clear a room for new floors and come back once they've cured. Lugg is an on-demand moving and delivery service that offers Movers only in San Diego, labor-only moving help you can book the same day for any job that stays at one address. Some people call them load-only movers.

How to book Movers only

The Movers only button sits right under your address. Tap it, choose how many movers the job needs, and pick a time, and the price shows before anything is booked. It works the same way in the Lugg app and on the web, and it's the quickest way to hire moving help without arranging a truck.

Can you hire movers by the hour?

Yes, and finer than that. Lugg bills moving labor by the minute, so a 40-minute job pays for 40 minutes of labor instead of the two-to-four-hour block most moving companies charge for. The base fare depends on the crew size you pick, and with nothing traveling between two addresses there's no mileage. Running long is fine too: the same rate simply continues.

What Movers only covers, and when to book a standard Lugg

Movers fill or empty a rental truck, a PODS or a storage unit, carry a single heavy item to another room or floor, like a treadmill down to the basement or a mattress up a staircase, and take on any job where you need help moving furniture without going anywhere. They show up with a dolly, blankets, straps and stretch wrap, and they can take a bed frame apart and put it back together in the room it's going in. For a PODS or a U-Box, the container pages cover what to have ready.

Two buildings in one complex count too, as long as everything can be carried across on foot. If anything has to ride in a vehicle to get where it's going, book a standard Lugg instead and your movers bring the vehicle.
