Senior moving services in New Haven, CT

Yes, with Lugg you can book senior moving services in New Haven with professional movers and trucks, on demand. Luggers can arrive within the hour or be scheduled up to 60 days in advance, perfect for apartment, condo, or home moves of any size. Whether you're moving across town, between neighborhoods, or relocating locally, Lugg makes short-distance senior moves fast and easy.

Yes, this is common for local moves! You can add multiple stops to your Lugg if you need to pick up or drop off items at more than one location, like stopping by a storage unit, picking up furniture from a local store or marketplace seller, or moving items to another new home across town.

Mileage is totaled across your whole route, so if your stops add up to more than 30 miles you'll also see a long-distance fee in your estimate.

Yes, for in-building or same-complex moves, book Movers only with Lugg: enter your address, tap Movers only, then pick your crew size. If you enter the same address as your pickup and your drop-off, the app suggests it for you. Luggers can move furniture between floors, rooms, or nearby units, ideal for apartment upgrades, remodeling, or switching between floors. If your things need to ride in a vehicle to reach the new unit, book a standard Lugg instead. There are no hourly minimums, so a short in-building move is billed for the time it actually takes, and you'll see your upfront estimate before you book.

Lugg's weight limit is 125 lbs per Lugger, or 250 lbs per item on any vehicle that comes with two Luggers: Pickup, Van, XL, Box or Box+. Anything heavier needs more Luggers on the job, so book a second Lugg for the same time window. There's no limit on how many items you move, and size comes down to which vehicle you choose.

Yes, Lugg operates seven days a week, including evenings and weekends, so you can move when it's most convenient for you. Book anytime in the Lugg app or on our website, movers are available Monday–Saturday from 7 AM–10 PM and Sunday from 8 AM–9 PM. Perfect for working professionals or weekend move-outs.

You'll get text and push notifications with live tracking once your crew is on the way. You can message or call your Luggers directly through the app. Real-time updates show when your items are loaded, in transit, and delivered. iPhone users can also follow along through Live Activities on their Lock Screen or Apple Watch.

Lugg prices every booking as a base fare for the vehicle you pick, a per-mile rate for the distance between your stops, and labor billed by the minute with no hourly minimum. You'll see your upfront estimate before you book, including a small variable booking fee, and rates vary by city.

The vehicle you pick sets most of the price, so a single piece of furniture in a Lite or Pickup costs much less than a full apartment in a Box. Routes over 30 miles add a long-distance fee, which is already in your estimate, and a Movers only job has no mileage at all.

Lugg does not provide wall-mounting or dismounting services. Wall-mounted TVs should be fully disconnected before pickup. If you need mounting assistance, book a local professional in New Haven and let Lugg handle the transport.

Yes, your Luggers can help with basic furniture disassembly and assembly during your senior move. Crews bring standard tools, but if your items need specialty tools or instructions, please have those ready. Time spent disassembling or assembling is included in your total labor.

Yes, you can add extra Luggers if your move involves multiple rooms, stairs, or heavy furniture. Just book another Lugg for the same time window, and we'll coordinate the additional crew and truck in New Haven.

Yes, you'll need to pack before your crew arrives, because Lugg doesn't provide packing services or supplies. Box or bag any small, loose or fragile items, including kitchenware, electronics accessories, office supplies and anything that could shift in transit.

Your Luggers bring moving supplies and equipment to protect furniture and larger pieces, but having your things packed ahead of time keeps your move quick, organized and damage-free.

No, customers cannot ride in the truck with their items, for safety and liability reasons.

Make sure there's a clear 3–4 ft path, measure any tight spaces, protect floors, and secure pets. If your building requires it, reserve elevators or loading docks ahead of time. Keep your phone nearby so you don't miss live updates or crew messages during your move.

Lugg movers can take packaging and trash to an on-site dumpster, or move an old item to the curb for city pickup, as part of your labor time.

To haul packaging, trash or old items away, or to donate them, add an extra stop (or stops) when you book, at a recycling center, disposal site or local charity you choose, like Goodwill or Habitat ReStore near New Haven.

Tip: Donation and disposal centers vary widely in what they accept, so call ahead to confirm they can take your items, and check their hours and any fees.

Every Lugg senior move in New Haven includes professional moving equipment, straps, dollies, moving blankets, and stretch wrap to protect your items and your space, plus a basic toolkit for light disassembly or reassembly. Pickup trucks also come equipped with a tarp for weather protection. Your Luggers will wrap fragile or bulky pieces for safe transport, take care to avoid damage to floors, walls, and elevators, and know how to get heavy furniture, appliances, and other large items through tight spaces, stairs, and doorways. This helps ensure a smooth, efficient senior move from start to finish. We do not provide moving boxes or mattress covers. Please have these items ready if needed.

If your apartment building, condo, or HOA in New Haven requires a Certificate of Insurance, Lugg can provide one at no extra cost. After booking, send your building's COI requirements — including your name, address, and move date — through our contact page.

We always recommend inspecting your items upon arrival in your new space. In the rare event that damage occurs to your item(s) or your property in New Haven, our Support Team will promptly review the issue, coordinate any necessary repairs or replacements, and work with you to make things right.
