Peter and Aaron were fantastic I'm every way. What was originally a nightmare because the delivery dropped off a treadmill in the rain, this team was incredible at getting it where it needed to go, in a smart and safe way. Kudos!!! - Justin
They were quick to get here, the furniture was heavy and they moved it to where we wanted it. Would use again and would recommend for any moving. Thank you guys! - Scott
These guys worked so fast and efficiently. Anthony did an amazing job organizing and packing my car with such precision. It’s going to be so easy to find what I’m looking for when I need something. He left me with a clear field of vision from every angle. I have a 31 hour drive, so I appreciate feeling safe. Malik was friendly, kind, and incredibly hard working. The stairs are both steep and winding. Many of my belonging were incredibly heavy. With armfuls of items, Malik flew up and down those stairs like he had wings. After all of that, he even grabbed several bags of my garbage and took them down to the can. I’ve been running off of 3 hours sleep in 2 days, packing and cleaning nonstop. That act of kindness was very much needed and appreciated. Thank you guys for all of your hard work. - Amanda
Jonathan and Marquail consistently go above and beyond. Today they hauled a heavy armoire down stairs and on and off the truck and into another house. Amazing! Gratitude. - Elle
Amazing service, both of these guys were great!! The wardrobe was extremely extra heavy and there was some hard angles to get through. I appreciate them a lot!! - Gianna
thank you both so much!! made lifting a very very heavy piece up multiple flights of stairs look very seamless - Emma
The mattress was very heavy and they worked as a team to get it up there. It was very hard. They did a great job. - Irene
Isiah and Chris were incredible! They were so kind and friendly! And they were very experienced movers who work really hard. They helped me unload some heavy items from a truck and then they moved those items into my house. I appreciated that they wanted to scope out the route they’d take to bring everything in first (instead of just diving right in). They were thoughtful and careful and treated these household items as if they were their own. They were also conscientious and went above and beyond. When the plans changed, they went the extra mile to make sure everything was set up the way it needed to be. I’m very grateful for all of their help! Thank you, Chris and Isiah! - Blaine
Excellent!! They were super nice and did a great job with a very heavy dresser. Would use over again and again! - Andy
Jonathan and Pedro did a great job delivering my very heavy sofa exactly where I wanted it! They were efficient and a pleasure to work with! - Dylan
Isiah was so nice, he managed several pieces on his own including a heavy cabinet, he arrived on time, and he was happy to work with me to take all the items off his truck. Would be very happy to hire him again. - Elle
Daniel and Javair were awesome! They arrived early, were very professional and took great care while in my house moving a very heavy mattress. Great job guys! Thank you! - Phil
When they got here they were polite, introduced themselves . Friendly to my husband who was outside. Very careful W/ carrying in the heavy pc of furniture. Asking where I wanted it , placed it there & asked if was ok or they would move it to where I needed it . Very accommodating! My husband & I We’re very impressed w/ the service , promptness, & the friendly delivery guys! Will keep the # if I need this again great experience! They both deserve GOLD Stars ⭐️ - Lynn
They were right on time picking up. Very responsive and helpful setting up the pick up. They also wrapped the dressers so I really liked that. Also they were heavy and managed very well! So pleasant. - Rene
They stayed in touch with me during the delivery process and were so kind enough to help my son take the mattress up to my apartment. It was too heavy for me to do it with my son alone. Very kind. - Christine
Our cabinets were super heavy and they put in their best efforts to fit in our small room upstairs. Very good team work and personality. - Hui
Arrival time was on time to a T, friendly service and carried the heavy item right on inside directly where I wanted it. Great service, greatly appreciated! 👍🏻 - K
Made sure to be careful of the furniture and walls when bringing the sofa up the stairs. Helped overcome a few unforseen obstacles that came up to deliver my furniture on time. Would use service again - Jonathon
Sent me updates on the delivery time. Arrived in an enclosed van. Were very careful bringing the pieces upstairs. - judy
They were very accommodating they even helped move a dresser up the stairs for me, in addition to bringing the two chairs up that they were scheduled to. Thank you. - Veronica
Was very friendly and efficient with the drop off and pickup and made my first time using Lugg very pleasant and easy. - David
My delivery by Luis and Alexander went fine. Both gentlemen were professional, friendly and helpful in placing the items. It’s refreshing to work with such positive and kind people. I’m glad Home Goods introduced me to the Lugg Lite services. I’m sure I will be using them in the future. - Linda
Ralph really went above and beyond managing big pieces of furniture and even tucking them away in my storage for me. Super job! - Elle
Jared and Nate were terrific! They were efficient, professional, and gracious when we discovered the distance the furniture had to be carried was much further than anticipated. We were grateful for their help—they are stellar!!! 🌟 - Fran

Lugg moves gym and fitness equipment between homes, apartments, storage units and commercial gyms, and the thing worth checking before you book is what the heaviest single piece weighs, because that decides how many movers you need. Lugg's weight limit is 125 pounds per Lugger, or 250 pounds per item on any vehicle that comes with two Luggers: Pickup, Van, XL, Box or Box+. Lugg is an on-demand moving and delivery service that moves gym, fitness and exercise equipment in New Haven, with a truck and the muscle to load it, for pieces that are too heavy and too awkward to shift alone.
The only number that matters is the heaviest single piece. Under 125 pounds one Lugger can carry it, so any Lugg works, including a Lite. Between 125 and 250 pounds you need a vehicle that comes with two Luggers. Over 250, book a second Lugg for the same day and time with the same two addresses, and both crews arrive together.
| Piece | Typical weight |
|---|---|
| Mats, bands, kettlebells | 5-50 lb each |
| Adjustable bench | 40-70 lb |
| Olympic barbell | 45 lb, about 7 ft long |
| Plates | 2.5-45 lb each |
| Spin or exercise bike | 100-140 lb |
| Elliptical | 150-250 lb |
| Power rack or squat rack | 200-400 lb |
| Cable machine or functional trainer | 400-700 lb with the stacks in |
A rack, a bench and a full set of plates going to the same address is still one job, because the limit is per item and not per load. Three things are worth doing before the crew arrives: box the small plates and leave the 45s stacked to be carried singly, take the bar and any long attachments off the rack, and measure the narrowest turn on the route rather than the doorway.
Cable machines and functional trainers are the ones to plan around. The stacks, pulleys and cables are a torque-specific rebuild, cable tension has to be set correctly for the machine to work safely, and the warranty on most of them is sensitive to who did the work. Book the manufacturer's technician for the teardown and the rebuild, and book Lugg for the transport in between. The same goes for anything still under warranty that you'd rather not open up.
Whatever does come apart, bag the bolts and tape the bag to the frame they came off, so nothing arrives as a pile of parts with the hardware missing.
The truck and crew size you pick sets the base fare and factors in the distance between your addresses, then labor runs by the minute once the crew arrives at each location, with no hourly minimums. Lugg movers carry equipment up stairs, into elevators and down long hallways. Enter both addresses and you'll see the estimate before anything is confirmed. Up to five stops fit on one booking, so clearing a rack out to a storage unit and dropping the plates somewhere else is one job, and moving equipment from one room to another in the same building is a booking like any other. If you're replacing equipment rather than relocating it, the old machine can ride along as an extra stop to a recycling center or donation site you choose.
