Yes, Lugg provides on-demand, same-day, and next-day couch moves. You can book movers and a truck within the hour, or schedule up to 60 days in advance for a time that works best for you.

What supplies and protective equipment will my Luggers bring for my couch move?

Every Lugg couch move includes professional moving equipment, straps, dollies, moving blankets, and stretch wrap to protect your items and your space, plus a basic toolkit for light disassembly or reassembly. Pickup trucks also come equipped with a tarp for weather protection. Your Luggers will wrap fragile or bulky pieces for safe transport, take care to avoid damage to floors, walls, and elevators, and know how to get heavy furniture, appliances, and other large items through tight spaces, stairs, and doorways. This helps ensure a smooth, efficient couch move from start to finish. We do not provide moving boxes or mattress covers. Please have these items ready if needed.

My building is a walk-up with stairs and no elevator, can Lugg still help with my couch move?

Yes, Luggers are experienced with walk-ups and tight spaces. Your Lugg crew will carefully bring your furniture to or from your room of choice, exactly where you want it. **Heavy couch notice:** Please confirm stairs are wide enough to accommodate safe placement, as Luggers can't hoist appliances or use ladders.

What size truck and crew should I book for my couch move?

Pick the truck that fits what you're moving. Almost every option is a two-Lugger booking, so crew size isn't usually the decision — the Lugg Lite is the exception. * Lite: 6 ft+ long × 4.5 ft wide. A single Lugger with a pickup truck, for a stack of boxes or a few lighter pieces. * Pickup: 6 ft+ long × 4.5 ft wide. The same truck as the Lite, with a second Lugger. * Van: 8 ft+ long × 4 ft wide × 4.5 ft tall. Enclosed, so better in bad weather. * XL: 10 ft+ long × 5.5 ft wide × 6.4 ft tall. * Box: 12–16 ft long × 6 ft wide × 7 ft tall. * Box+: 18–24 ft long × 6 ft wide × 7 ft tall. The largest option, built for commercial relocations and anything that needs maximum cargo space. **Tip**: Pickup trucks carry a tarp for light rain, but book an enclosed truck — Van, XL, Box or Box+ — if heavier rain is forecast. When in doubt, size up. Not all box trucks have a lift gate. If your couch move needs one, say so in the '**What are you moving?**' field when booking and Lugg will do its best to accommodate.

Do I need to arrange parking for my couch move?

Yes, you are responsible for securing safe and legal parking for your couch move. If a permit is required at your location, please arrange it in advance. If safe parking isn't available, your Lugg may need to be canceled and your move rescheduled. Please note that wait time is billable.

Can Lugg handle disassembling, assembling, or setting up my couch?

Yes, Lugg crews can assist with basic assembly, disassembly, or setup, things like attaching legs, headboards, or reassembling bed frames, billed at your normal labor rate. If your couch requires special instructions or tools, please have them ready for your crew. **Store Delivery Exception:** Flat-rate store deliveries only include up to 15 minutes of labor at each location for loading/unloading. Assembly is not included, though Luggers may assist with a quick setup if it fits within that time.

Can Lugg pick up my new couch and haul away, recycle, or donate the old one on the same trip?

Yes, Lugg can pick up your new couch and then haul away the old one to a recycling facility or donate it to a local charity, including donation centers like [Goodwill](https://lugg.com/goodwill-donation-pickup) or [Habitat ReStore](https://lugg.com/habitat-for-humanity-donation-pickup) . Just add an extra stop when booking your move. **Tip**: Donation and disposal centers vary widely in what they accept, so we recommend calling ahead to confirm they can take your couch, along with their hours and any potential fees.

Will Lugg unbox items from my couch move?

For regular local moves/deliveries, Luggers can help with unboxing and basic placement; time is billed at your normal labor rate. If you'd like us to also haul away packing debris, add an additional stop to a local recycling or disposal center. For flat-rate partner store deliveries coverage includes pickup and room-of-choice placement only, unboxing, setup, and packaging removal aren't included. What if my couch item is oversized?

Please note special handling in your booking. We recommend a 2-Lugger crew and cleared pathways. For delicate items, Luggers use pads and wrap; extra time may be required for safe handling.

How should I prepare for my couch move?

Measure doorways/hallways, clear pathways, and secure pets. If you live in an apartment building or condo, check with your property manager about elevator or dock reservations. Please have your phone on for driver contact and ensure parking is available.

Can Lugg help move items within my home/building or to the curb?

Yes, you can set pickup and drop-off to the same address for in-home rearranging (room swaps, up/downstairs) or curb placement. For lowest base fare, book a Pickup Truck, even if no truck use is needed.

What happens if my couch gets damaged during the move?

We always recommend inspecting your couch upon arrival. In the rare event that damage occurs to your item(s) or your property, our Support Team will promptly review the issue, coordinate any necessary repairs or replacements, and work with you to make things right. Lugg is an on-demand moving and delivery service that carries couches, sofas, sectionals, sleepers and futons for people who just need a single piece of furniture moved.

Will my couch actually fit?

Measure three things before you book: the narrowest doorway, the turn at the top of the stairs, and the couch at its widest point. The turn is what catches people out, because a sofa that clears the front door can still jam on a landing. Sectionals are the forgiving ones since they come apart into pieces. Sleeper sofas are the opposite, because the folding frame makes them far heavier than they look.

Moving a couch inside your own place

Room swaps count, and Lugg crews do them all the time. Enter the same address as both the pickup and the drop-off, and the crew will carry a sectional between rooms, bring a sofa up from the garage, or take one down to the basement.
