We also handle bulkier pieces like armoires, credenzas, mattresses, and patio sets. Whether it's a single sofa, a full apartment setup, or multiple items from a store or marketplace purchase, our Luggers secure, pad, and move it safely and efficiently.

Does Lugg provide same-day & next-day furniture move?

Accepted Answer

Yes, Lugg provides on-demand, same-day, and next-day furniture moves. You can book movers and a truck in as little as 30 minutes, or schedule up to 30 days in advance for a time that works best for you.

What supplies and protective equipment will my Luggers bring for my furniture move?

Accepted Answer

Every Lugg furniture move includes professional moving equipment — straps, dollies, moving blankets, and stretch wrap to protect your items and your space, plus a basic toolkit for light disassembly or reassembly. Pickup trucks also come equipped with a tarp for weather protection.

Your Luggers will wrap fragile or bulky pieces for safe transport, take care to avoid damage to floors, walls, and elevators, and are trained to move heavy furniture, appliances, and other large items safely through tight spaces, stairs, and doorways. This helps ensure a smooth, efficient furniture move from start to finish.

We do not provide moving boxes or mattress covers. Please have these items ready if needed.

My building is a walk-up with stairs and no elevator — can Lugg still help with my furniture move?

Accepted Answer

Yes, Luggers  are experienced with walk-ups and tight spaces. There's no extra charge for stairs or multiple floors. Your Lugg crew will carefully bring your furniture to or from your room of choice, exactly where you want it.

**Heavy furniture notice:** Please confirm stairs are wide enough to accommodate safe placement, as Luggers can't hoist appliances or use ladders.

What size truck and crew should I book for my furniture move?

Accepted Answer

The best truck depends on the size and scope of your furniture move. For most furniture moves involving heavy items, we **strongly recommend a 2-Lugger crew** to ensure everything is handled safely and efficiently. For smaller tasks, or when you'd like to assist, the Lugg Lite (1 Lugger + pickup truck) works great.

Here's a quick look at our truck dimensions to help you choose:

* Pickup: 6 ft+ long × 4.5 ft wide. The tailgate can stay open for extra length, and all items are secured with straps. 
* Van: 8 ft+ long × 4 ft wide × 4.5 ft tall. 
* XL: 10 ft+ long × 5.5 ft wide × 6.4 ft tall. 
* Box Truck: 12 ft+ long × 6 ft wide × 7 ft tall.

**Tip**: Our Pickup trucks include a tarp for light rain protection, but if the forecast calls for heavier rain, we recommend booking a covered truck, such as a Van, XL, or Box, for extra coverage.

If your furniture move requires a lift gate for loading or unloading, please book a Box Truck and add a note to your booking.

Question 6

Do I need to arrange parking for my furniture move?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you are responsible for securing safe and legal parking for your furniture move. If a permit is required at your location , please arrange it in advance. If safe parking isn't available, your Lugg may need to be canceled and your move rescheduled. Please note that wait time is billable.

Question 7

Can Lugg handle disassembling, assembling, or setting up my furniture?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Lugg crews  can assist with basic assembly, disassembly, or setup — things like attaching legs, headboards, or reassembling bed frames — billed at your normal labor rate. If your furniture requires special instructions or tools, please have them ready for your crew.

**Store Delivery Exception:** Flat-rate store deliveries only include up to 15 minutes of labor at each location for loading/unloading. Assembly is not included, though Luggers may assist with a quick setup if it fits within that time.

Can Lugg pick up my new furniture and haul away, recycle, or donate the old one on the same trip?

Accepted Answer

Yes, Lugg can pick up your new furniture and then haul away the old one to a recycling facility or donate it to a local charity — including donation centers like [Goodwill](https://lugg.com/goodwill-industries-pick-up) or [Habitat ReStore](https://lugg.com/habitat-for-humanity-pick-up) . Just add an extra stop when booking your move.

**Tip**: Donation and disposal centers vary widely in what they accept, so we recommend calling ahead to confirm they can take your furniture, along with their hours and any potential fees.

Will Lugg unbox items from my furniture move?

Accepted Answer

For regular local moves/deliveries, Luggers can help with unboxing and basic placement; time is billed at your normal labor rate. If you'd like us to also haul away packing debris, add an additional stop to a local recycling or disposal center.

For flat-rate partner store deliveries coverage includes pickup and room-of-choice placement only — unboxing, setup, and packaging removal aren't included. If you'd like us to also haul away packing debris, add an additional stop to a local recycling or disposal center.

What if my furniture item is oversized?

Accepted Answer

Please note special handling in your booking. We recommend a 2-Lugger crew and cleared pathways. For delicate items, Luggers use pads and wrap; extra time may be required for safe handling.

Question 11

How should I prepare for my furniture move?

Accepted Answer

Measure doorways/hallways, clear pathways, and secure pets. If you live in an apartment building or condo, check with your property manager about elevator or dock reservations. Please have your phone on for driver contact and ensure parking is available.

Question 12

Can Lugg help move items within my home/building or to the curb?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Set pickup and drop-off to the same address for in-home rearranging (room swaps, up/downstairs) or curb placement. For lowest base fare, book a Pickup Truck — even if no truck use is needed.

Question 13

What happens if my furniture gets damaged during the move?

Accepted Answer

We always recommend inspecting your furniture upon arrival. In the rare event that damage occurs to your item(s) or your property, our Support Team will promptly review the issue, coordinate any necessary repairs or replacements, and work with you to make things right.
